did home-court advantage play a role in the american revolution

Yes it definitely did. Specifically, those advantages included:

It was easier for Americans to resupply than for the British, who had to cross the Atlantic

Americans knew the landscape better than the British

Americans were fighting for their homes and families, which were sometimes in immediate danger. So their motivation was greater.
