I'm a 6th grader from Miller Middle School, and I am doing a research project on illegal immigration. Do you think that illegal immigrants effect US politics?

ANSWER: It is a hot issue.
There are some people who want open boarder, typically liberals.
There are some want the boarder secured and immigration laws enforced,
typically conservatives.
Democrats typically see the children of illegal aliens as potential voters. Thus they want amnisty and open border.
Republicans typically want to court legal immigrants as family values voters in the future. Thus some don't want to offend.
Business many times like cheap labor.
The problem isn't being solved.
A few things that you need known, illegal alien is actual term used in US Federal law. An illegal alien is not same as an immigrant.
An immigrant is someone who came here legally.
Overwelming most Americans support legal immigration.
Also claiming racism or being anti-Hispanic is a diversion.
In most cases it nothing to do with the issue.

Do you know if there is any way to solve this? If so how What is your opinion about illegal immigration and "aliens". Should anything be done about it?
Answer Sure there are ways of solving it.
You will never end it 100%, but you can cut down the number.
The continue with the boarder fence and increase the military on the boarder as a suppliment to the Boarder Patrol.
You make it harder to cross the boarder.
It also cuts drug & gun running.
The other is people who come on legitimate visa and never leave.
You address that by putting out arrest warrent if they did not leave when they were supposed to. In need to need notate arrivals & departures. In both cases you raid and arrest those employers giving jobs to illigal aliens and illigal aliens workers need to be quickly deported. A lot idenity thief is making up false papers for illigal aliens.
You can make it a criminal violation with jail time before deportation rather than civil infraction.
Plus the Immigration proceess needs to be stream lined.
Likily need to increase immigration quotas.
Personally I can not think of anything more un-American, in nation that that everyone is supposed to be equal, than cutting the line.
Thats what illigal aliens do, they cut the line.
Its unfair to those immigrants who follow the law.
Having an illigal alien population is bad all around including for the illigal aliens. Many times end up being exploited and crime victims with no where to turn.
