U.S. Politics/organizing the poor

Question
Would organizing the poor be a concept that might be impossible to do,as you would probably called a "COMMIE",or worse

Answer
Lawrence,

The answer really depends upon what reason you are organizing for.  However, no you would not be called a Communist for organizing.  Are Union members Communist?  A few I am sure, but far from all.  My suggestion is to organize.  I can't think of a reason not to.  The middle class you help build and/or save might be your own.
