Subject: Are we the Peace Keepers of the world?

Question
If we are acting as the "Peace Keepers of the World", how are we to do so without a huge army?  I keep hearing about our shrinking army and the lowering of standards in order to keep the numbers up.  My QUESTION is why can we not higher people from 3rd world countries or some of our own territories to fill those billets?  Certainly they would be cheaper than Blackwater and they would be greatful for the opportunity to make a few dollars.  Why do we need to send "our best men" into these situations?  Wouldn't a true multinational force be a more powerful statement to the rest of the world?  A statement of "World" authority and not just Christian based Americans?

Answer
I don't think i totally missed the point.  Its your "we are better then them" mentality that is the most troubling.  It is this mentality that allowed the majority of this country to support invading iraq in the first place.  That is why the media reports american casualties seperate from iraqi casualties.  The view that inhabitants of other nations are inferior beings, (which you clearly exhibit), is one of the major problems of this nation.  I think people who share that view are severely hurting our country and its one of the reasons why we get involved in so many foreign engagements.  If you start looking at innocent people in other countries as your brother or sister, its kind of hard to advocate killing them
