U.S. Virgin Islands/Freelance work

Question
Hi,
We are renewable energy specialists, planning on sailing to St Thomas and doing freelance work catering to installations of wind and solar to sailboats. Our business is run out of our boat and we have an onboard machine shop. Do you think there is a need for this type of service work in the USVI.
Thanks

Answer
Hey-

I TRULY hate to burst your bubble- but the market seems to becoming rather saturated in this area.  There are several companies offering solar/wind generation- for both house and boat/yacht here.  I guess if you could become competitive with pricing or bring some new features/something different for you customers- you might be okay.

I suggest you pose your questions on vinow.com on their message boards, to get a feel of this.  Best wishes to you in your future endeavors!

Respectfully,

Susie
