Question
Im a massage therapist and esthetician, any knowledge of what pay is like at a resort for this type of work, and is it seasonal?

Answer
Hi Nicole-

I believe some of the hotels have spas and offer massage treatments and similar things.  Places such as the Marriot and the Wydham are two places that come to mind.  I would imagine the massage therapists are independent contractors but I don't really know.   I've seen massage therapists advertise their services in the local papers, the V.I. Daily News as well as the weekly "free" paper- The Island Trader.  My guess would be for you to contact the various hotel here and inquire.  Or you would place your own ads for your services.

As for an esthetician, I don't even know what that is...(sorry)

Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you.  Bear in mind that the cost of living here is very expensive.  For example, a gallon of regular gas is $4.00.  The cost of electricity here is higher than ANYWHERE else in the states, including Hawaii.  You may also want to check out and pose questions on the message boards at www.vimovingcenter.com, which is a great resource for those considering relocating to our islands.

Best wishes to you in your future endeavors, Nicole.  Have a great week!

Regards,
Susie
