Question Wow St. Thomas has so much to offer I am overwhelmed trying to pick an excursion for our 1st ever cruise this Feb. We'll be in port from 8-5 local time. We are very novice to snorkeling but would like to go on a half day sail to either turtle cove or trunk bay. We also thought of captain nautica because of the speed boat you get one more snorkel stop. We could go with island girl and then use sea scooters for power snorkeling at the turtle cove so that may help. Later in the bay we would love to take an island tour not for shopping just to see the beauty and learn the history. (Do we need to book this ahead of time?)What do you recommend ? thank you
Answer Hi Holly-
This time of year there are usually several cruise ships in at any given day. For this reason, the excursions can sell-out quickly. I suggest you book as early as possible on board your ship, for whichever you decide on. As for the island tour- that you can arrange through the VI taxi association, when you arrive. There will be a taxi dispatcher or two, wherever you get off your ship. You can usually arrange a tour for 2-3 hours, for about $25.00/pp. You may find something comparable offered through your ship, which you can pre-book. Have a great time!
