U.S. Virgin Islands/st thomas beaches

Question
We will be cruising to St Thomas on Royal Caribbean.  We are travelling with an 11 and a 12 yr old and are looking for a nice beach close by where we could rent a couple of loungers for a few hours.  Was thinking of doing the tramway to Paradise Point and then maybe taking a cab to Magens Bay?  Would we be able to rent a couple of loungers & umbrella there?  Is there a nicer beach we could walk or take a cab to?  Any idea how much all this will cost for 2 adults and 2 children?  Thank you so much for your help!

Answer
Hi Cindy-  Most likely you will be docked at the Havensight cruise ship dock.  The Tramway/Paradise Point, is only a 5 minute walk from the dock.  There's also a Butterfly farm that is just a few minutes walking.  Magen's Bay beach is the nicest and I would suggest that.  There are all kinds of watersports rentals, as well as a couple of shops, bar/restaurant, and lounge chair rentals. That is a $8.00 open air taxi, P/P.  The closest beach is Morning Star located at the Marriott.  I believe that's only a $5.00 or $6.00 cab ride.  It's nice, but not as nice as Magens.  I'm not sure if the taxi is free for children 4 and under.  You can also get info at www.vinow.com, they also have very active message boards too.

Have a great vacation in America's Paradise.

Susie
