Actually, I can't imagine how it could be the same as the mainland, because each state has their own unique standards. For example: I believe that both Florida and New York require 1000 hours of training, whereas many states only require 500 hours, and some others still do not have regulation at all. I recommend contacting the local government in the virgin islands to get more specific details on their regulations.

The hours vary from state to state - New York requires 1,000 hours; Florida requires 750 hours - whereas Texas requires 500 - I was able to find some info for you.
