Question
Hi Fran,  I have a couple of questions.  My husband and I are considering sailing to St. Croix and starting a business.  Are boat slips available at any of the marina's on St. Croix for a sailboat/catamaran where we could live aboard our boat?  How would we find out if we could fill a need for a sailing/scuba/snorkel day charter business on St. Croix?  Do you know what the requirements are for getting licensed to do massage, or could you please direct me to the right office to find out, as I have been unable to locate any information on the internet.  Thanks. Denise

Answer
Hi, Denise.
It sounds wonderful, and I envy you and your husband. In fact, it gives me chills. :-)

You can have a wonderful life in the Caribbean anywhere you choose as long as you have passports. Every island welcomes good people who want to do exactly what you plan.

As for finding out information, it is like in the US. All agencies are the same name in the USVI.

Here is the information I could find:

Business Licenses - http://www.dlca.gov.vi/blsteps.htm

Board Certifications - http://www.dlca.gov.vi/boardcertifications.htm (Although they do not list massage, they may be able to direct you unless you know the agency name in the US.)

Boat slips - http://www.vinow.com/general_usvi/more_info/marinas/

Hope this helps.
Fran
