Question
Hi Tony,

Please help,

I have a 94 Vauxhall astra 1.7 TD (70,000 miles)which i use rarely. I went to start the car last week after it had been sitting on the drive for three months but the battery was dead. Put a new fully charged battery in and the engine turns well but no spark. This is my first diesel but i have noticed the bar connecting the glow plugs is only warm to touch, (I have noticed this gets very hot when the car is running). Is there anything elese i should be looking for.

Chris

Answer
probabbly fuel run back to tank. system needs to be primed. what make fuel system is on it bosch or lucas?
the reason the bar gets hot when engine running  is because of just heat transference from engine no other reason. Also need to know if this is jap isuzu engine in which case the fuel pump will be behind the engine.
Regards
