Question
Hi Mr Edwards

My question is re -

Ford duratorq 1998cc fuel pumps, (ford part number 1213937) for my transit van.

I have had to have the fuel pump replaced, costing me over £1350.00. Are these fuel pumps recognised as having problems by Ford? My van was only registered in 2001 and it just seems a lot of money to have spent  on a repair for a relatively new vehicle.
Many thanks
Phil Curtis

Answer
Sorry phil no experience on these pumps , was out of the game when they started becoming more popular, asked old friend of mine though and he said they are no more prone to problems than any other pumps just that not many companies can repair them hence the expense of Service exchange.
Regards
tony
