Question Hi Tony
Thanks for a brilliant service. I have often read your tips with interest. Now, I hope you may help me? I have a strange problem, that I've never heard of before. In my 1995 Courier 1,8 diesel engine, a circular lid has popped up from the top of the engine, on the right side (facing the engine) from the oil cap. It happend like this: After running out of diesel, I refilled the tank and tried first to start the engine but there was no ignition. I then tried to tow the car, also without luck. (At the time, it was about minus 10 degrees, and I suspected that I had got water from the tank into the fuel filter?) Anyway, after towing, when I lifted the bonnet, I was surprised to see that a strange lid with a spring coil - about 5-6 cm diameter - had popped up from the top of the engine. I didnt even know it was a lid there! What is this an indication of, and can it be fixed? I looks very expensive :-(
I will greatly appreciate your reply.
