Question i own a 1994 td mondeo and the fuel pump has gone at over a £1000 for a new one i decided to ring around the breakers yards, can you tell me the diffrence between to pumps with simalar part numbers
lucas f18.itc1.20 and
lucas f18.itc1.10
Answer these are not pump part numbers my friend just basic timing and ident. numbers. You will need to look at the plate on the body of the pumps located towards the drive end , almost underneath the pump but more towards side that faces you when fitted to engine. These pumps will be numbered something like this 8443b321c example only !! but the layout is like that. 844 will always be there . the next 3 numbers must be same, last number not so important. It is good if letters are close to as these are modification letters so the further up the alphabet the more recent the pump. so there you go. £ 1000 seems expensive to me for new , that must be from fords?? try getting reconditioned one from fuel injection place . Look up Darwen Diesels http://www.darwendiesels.com/ddcouk/default.htm on internet. they might deal with you, but they will need payment first and also of course the number of old pump I would say £ 400 tops, or try getting yours reonditioned.
