Question
hi,can you help im at my wits end.the problem is when i accelerate say onto a motorway or something simmilar the engine seems to pull back through the gears once up to speed seems ok but not 100%.the engine has 73.000miles full service given, could you help please.thanks

Answer
Seeing that you have not mentioned any other problems i am inclined to think that the diaphragm in the turbo boost capsule has gone. This unit is located on the side of the pump with an air pipe from the turbo connected to it. Very difficult to be sure of course but it seems that there is no boost. If you remove the air pipe and performance is worse then it is possible you have pump wear, or possible pump plungers sticking. When pipe is off check to see if there is diesel coming out of the air pipe spout. good sign of diaphragm gone , but caution , difficult item to remove and repair without prior knowledge. If you have no sign of white smoke or uneven running you can rule out air in the system. Good luck.
