Question Hi, Im having a problem with my drivers side , outside door handle, i can only open the door from the inside the outside handle feels as if its not conected and does nothing, i have removed the inside door panel to have a look, but do not know what to do or try next, please could you help in any way?
Answer Hi Laura, the outer door handle is connected to the latch by a metal rod. If you look inside the door with a torch , you can see the handle rear and the rod, if the rod is not visible then it is possible that the handle has broken and just needs replacing (around £15 from a scrap yard). If the bar if visible and moving then it has become disconnected from the latch, the most common cause of this is a broken plastic seating in the latch which wears with time. you can fix it yourself for little or no money- good luck - Paul
