UK Car Repair - UK 2004 Renault Scenic electric window fault
Expert: Paul - 7/10/2008
Question I have a 2004 UK Renault Scenic with a rear electric window fault. Most of the
window has disappeared into the door - the electric motor still seems to be
working but won't move the window. Can I easily attempt to fix this myself and
if so, how do I remove the door skin and trim to gain access to the inside? Many
thanks.
Answer Hi Matt, you need to remove the screws behind the blanking caps in the door handles, remove the screws in the edges of the panel, remove the screw behind the blanking cap in the door opener handle and disconnect the rod to it. when the panel feels free from the door lift it up over the lock tab (there will be some push fitted studs which will pop out around the bottom of the panel). It sounds to me like the lifting cable has snapped, -Good luck _ Paul
