Question how hard is it to replace ac condenser on a Peugeot 406 hdi estate.
Answer Hi Andrew, did you mean compressor? because it is NOT recommended for a diy mechanic to change this because the gases contained within are corrosive and harmful to skin, if you absolutely have to do it yourself then make sure you discharge the gas to atmosphere in a well ventilated are (but be prepared for greenpeace to to harpoon you for this CFC release) remove the two bolts holding in each tube top the body of the condenser, slacken the drive belt off at the tensioner, unplug the electrical connector, remove the retaining bolts and withdraw the compressor from the engine block and reverse to replace. if you did mean condenser then this is usually part of the radiator assembly and can be removed by gaining access to the radiator. beware on older cars the bolts can be seized so apply plenty of WD-40 to the bolts before trying to remove them. - Paul
