UK Computing/Problems opening PDF files from the internet

Question
On some sites on the Internet, if I try to open a PDF file the system says Internet Explorer has stopped responding and I have to exit. If, however, I save the file and then open it from my computer, it opens correctly.

The same file on the same site on a different computer opens properly. Most other PDF files from other sites open correctly on my computer too.

What should I do?

Answer
Hi there Sal

I think that maybe you have a corrupt Acrobat Reader installation, this can sometimes happen if the Reader has been upgraded several times and there are older versions still in Add/Remove Programs.  What I would do is to remove all traces of Acrobat Reader and download the latest version.

Clean up tool can be found here:  http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

New Version can be found here:  http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/

***  Note  ***
When clicking on new version download remember to uncheck the McAfee Toolbar Download.

Hope this helps, if you are still having problems after the above has been tried, please follow up on your original post.
