Question
Can you help me (or direct me to someone who can help) with the problem I'm having with BBC iPlayer.

I want to be able to record TV programmes so that I can eventually burn them on to a DVD.

This entails removing the DRM which makes the iPlayer downloads self-destruct after a given period.

I have been trying to do this unsuccessfully with Aimersoft Video Converter Ultimate.  Their help line repeatedly tells me to click the REC button on the screen as it plays.  Unfortunately the REC button never appears.

Can you help?

Thanks.

Answer
Hello Michael

I have never used to program you are referring to but from what I have read on the website you can't remove the DRM protection and keep the file on your PC, it has to be converted into a DVD format.

Instructions here:  http://www.daniusoft.com/tutorial/burn-bbc-iplayer-downloaded-programmes-to-dvd.

I can only presume that once it is converted into DVD format you could rip it back to AVI format?

I do not condone the use of such programs and would like to state that if you have any further questions about such activities that you direct your questions to other sites like Afterdawn.
