Subject: start up

Question
I use windows XP Home.  when the computer starts there many applications are opened and show on the tool bar bottom right.  how do I prevent some of these starting up at boot up?  at present I routinely have to close down about six of them which is a bore.

Answer
Hi Julian,
You can do this by clicking on Start, then click Run and type in "MSCONFIG". Then you will get a little dialogue pop
up. Click on the "Start-up" tab and uncheck the boxes of the programs you don't want starting up. Once done click ok and restart your machine.

Hope this helps,
Regards,
Sascha Lopez
