Subject: Catered or self catered

Question
I am going to the university of Manchester but i haven't decided on accomdation. There arecatered halls and self catering flats. My question is which isbetter socially - catered or self catering?

Answer
The obvious answer to this is that catered offers the chance to get more socially involved, as you will meet people while eating together. However, as you get to know the people in self catering accommodation, you will find that they are all in the same situation as you, and therefore it is a very easy way to make friends and get to know people.

I guess what I'm saying is that neither is better socially, as both are a good way to meet people eventually!
