I certainly hope I'm not taking up too much of your time, but I have a few more questions. How do you feel the closing of the plant has effected your country? How long was it before the public learned just how extensive the disaster was? Do you know when the plant was constructed? opened? Or do you know of a place where I can get this information? (I checked out the site you recommended, but it doesn't seem to have this information.) Thanks for correcting my spelling. It's spelled "Chernobyl" quite frequently, and I am glad to know the correct spelling. Again, I thank you very much for taking the time to answer my questions. It is a tremendous help.

Answer Shawna . Thank you again for you interest in Ukraine.

They did closed it. 4th reactor i mean. But radiation is still coming out, in small portions. You will not find this statement in any news or something, they will never admit what they did to people and they will never tell you that they still cannot stop it. Well it's hard to say how it affected Ukraine. Ukraine has enough of "HydroPower" if you will, to produce electricity. And there is no need for 7 (seven) nuclear plants in Ukraine. But Russian speaking antihuman communist system bult them in Ukraine (cuz they hate Ukraine), were selling electricity to Europe, and all money resided in Moscow and later as private property bought for cash in California and Florida.
