Question I am interested in a Ukrainian man. What can I do to "woo" him? Also, could age be an issue? I am older than him.
Answer That largely depends on his age, attitude and upbringing. Many older (say, 35 and above) Ukrainian men are very traditional in their beliefs, in which case they make all the first moves and do the "woo"-ing and age is often an issue, as Ukrainian men traditionally date younger, sometimes much younger, women. I know of at least one Peace Corps volunteer who did not get a guy she liked because even though he liked her, she was too forward (i.e., she asked him out and then paid for the dinner).
But stereotypes are stereotypes and there are many Ukrainian men, especially the newer generations, who are happy for a woman to pursue them. In which case there is nothing they can "traditionally" do, just do what women the world over do: pay compliments, break the touch barrier, suggest dates, let him know how you feel without being overbearing.
