Question HeLLO I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT I AM ABLE TO GET; My father is full blood Ukraine and i was wondering if i can get dual citizenship. and if so where will that citizenship allow me to travel to. i am australian.
Answer If your father was born in Ukraine, you can probably get citizenship, but I don't think you can have dual citizenship in either country. It's best to check with the Ukrainian embassy and the Australian government to learn more. Having a Ukrainian passport will allow you to travel to CIS countries (Belarus, Russia, Moldova, most of the -stans) without a visa. The political climate is always shifting, though, and soon Ukrainian citizens may need a visa to go to Russia. Also, unless you understand Ukrainian, it may cost you more in getting the passport then you would spend in visa fees to visit the above countries. Good luck!
