Question i am an American with Internet access everyday in my home so it os very easy for me to use the Internet daily. i have a friend in Ukraine it takes some times a week or 2 before i can receive a e-mail from him. is it true that it is much harder to obtain Internet in Ukraine then it is the the U.S.? about what percentage of the population has Internet use? and why is it so hard for Ukrainians to have Internet use?
Answer Ukraine is still a developing country without the infrastructure and finances of America, so very few homes in Ukraine have access to the internet. The majority of Ukrainians that do use the internet (which is actually only about 30 percent) use them at internet cafes. Depending on where he is located, this could be difficult. Many towns have no access to the internet at all and this requires travelling to cities. And even in the cities, it can be problematic. I live in a city and very often when I go to an internet cafe, I am told the internet is not working that day. This rarely happens more than a few days in a row, but depending on his schedule, getting onto the internet only once a week could be very normal.
