Question
hello daniel i must say u have helped me out with several questions thus far and i want to say thank you. now i am traveling to ukriane in may which i hear is the best time to travel to ukraine. and i am a american what are all the proper documents needed to travel to ukraine? i have my passport but what else do i need to travel to this country? i wish to stay for the whole month and i intend to rent a apt for that month is this wise? and also if i travel with at least 3,000 american dollar will this be enough converted into ukrainian money? sorry for so many questions thank you

Answer
The only document you will need is your passport.  You'll get a stamp when you come in the country that is good for 90 days.  Renting an apartment for just a month can be problematic and expensive and largely depends on the city.  Expect to pay around $600-800 in Kyiv, $200-300 in other major cities.  If you know someone in Ukraine, have them find and negotiate for the apartment before you get here and they might be able to get a cheaper rate.  $3,000 is more than enough money.  Most of the country gets by on $200 a month.  Still, in a major city like Kyiv, it could be spent rather quickly if you go to expensive restaurants, etc.  Good luck and welcome to Ukraine!
