I want to know whether there is any cure for vitiligo in Unani ?
ANSWER: Hello Mr Shajahan,
According to unani concepts vitiligo is caused due to imbalance in Phlegm humour (Balgam).Lot of research has been done for this disease by central council for research in unani medicine (CCRUM) in India and the results are outstanding. The cure rate depends on lot of factors like age of the patient, family history, duration of the problem, site of depigmented area etc etc.
In my practice in Dubai i have seen that early intervention leads to better results. Unani has unique diagnostic method in this case which has been explained in ancient text over 5000 years. with this method one can even tell in advance whether the patient can get cent percent cure or just their will be minimal responce.
The areas which are difficult to cure according to unani methods are Fingers, palms,lips.
Unani medicines are given both internally and externally along with sun exposure. while starting the external treatment lot of care should be taken to prevent sunburns and peeling of skin. Hence always consult your physician before starting any medicine and their should be proper follow up.

I got white patch on my Right elbow 2 years back and slowly started spreading to my right leg and chest. the new spots are small in size.
