Question
Hi Brian,
FINALLY I got through all this "running" and could get the contents of my latest hjackthis notepad results....NOW WHAT !  My computer is still runnning just as slow...I rebooted after the removal of your latest suggestion .. peoplepc toolbar.  I have Superantispyware and AVG (free downloads) for virus protection installed on my computer....is this part of the reason for my computer running so slow???

Answer
Hi Becky

You should never have more than one antivirus program running at a time.  SuperAntiSpyware is a malware removal program, not an antivirus.  If you are running AVG antivirus, you should not have programs like Norton AV installed at the same time.  SAS, Malwarebytes, AVG Antispyware, Spybot, Adaware, etc., are all safe to run with an antivirus program.
Judging from what you are telling me, and what I have seen in your HJT logs, you don't have an excessive amount of items loading at startup.  I believe that your slowdown is hardware related.  I would like for you to run the full test at PCPitstop:

Take note of any problems it finds and the solutions it offers.  I will help you as best I can with the results, so send me the test summary or save the screenshots and send them to me at numbersix6@yahoo.com

Brian
