Question
I hope this is the right place to ask this question! I have thousands of photos stored on my computer right now, that have been downloaded from my digital camera. They are not backed up in any way, which makes me VERY nervous. The CD drive on this computer is fussy; I've tried several times to back up my photos onto CDs and it won't work. What is the easiest, safest, cheapest way to back up all of these digital photos? (Being easy and reliable is more important than cost at this point, though we don't have a lot of extra money). Thanks for any advice you can provide!

Answer
Ok without the use of a CD burner, I would say the easiest way is to use what is called a jumpdrive or flashdrive. Basically they are mini storage drives that you can move all sorts of files to. Depending on how many pictures you have in terms of size .I would guess a 1GB drive would work well for you they are are around $15-$20 dollars and can be bought at walmart or any store that sells elctronics.
If you are using Windows XP or Vista all you have to do is plug the drive into a USB port and you are good to go. Just basically copy and paste your pictures onto that drive which should be seen as removable drive E or F. If you have an earlier Windows you will have to install the drivers for it.
