Question Hi, I am wondering what would happen if we use a laptop during lightning storm? Is it safe if we are in a lightning protected house? What we should do in such situation?
Answer Hi Doyo
I think it is possible that you can be shocked using the laptop during a lightning storm via static discharge. It could, theoretically, ruin the laptop if the air around it were charged, and then suddenly discharged. More likely, you could destroy the laptop and get seriously injured if it is connected to the wall via plug. Use the battery, if you must use a laptop at all, during a storm.
