Question
My laptop, Dell Inspiron1300, started having the 3rd light from left flashing. I keep my computer plugged in all the time and turn it off whrn not in use. I went to shut it down lastnight and the light started flashing. Can I remove the battery pack and just run it on the ac outlet and still shut it off when not in use? Will it hurt it? The computer is currently running on the battery, but light is still flashing. battry says it has 85% remaining.

Answer
Dear Karoll:

Thanks for asking this question.

First of all, I don't think there will be a problem if you are using laptop without battery. However, I can not guarantee the function and safety of PC.  You can try to use it without battery, and later to plug battery again and see how it works.

Personally, I had a several occasions that laptop was hung and I had to take battery out to just reboot the pc, and I didn't have a hardware problem.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.
