Question From what I have read, Unity believes Jesus was a man, not God, but He was able to connect to his spiritual nature and find his divinity with God. I came away from the readings I have done feeling Unity is not Christian nor non-Christian but a philosphy of finding God wihtin yourself, your mind/thoughts are the reality of your life. It seems to make sense to me but there is no Unity Church in my area. Am hoping I would find a similar message at the local Unitarian Church. I am not looking for a "relegion" with dogma but education to help me find the "spirit" within me. Is this possible with the Unitarian Church ??
Answer Pat,
First, let me state that the Unity Church and the modern Unitarian Church are very different.
That being stated, you may find that the Unitarian Church will provide an education that helps you to find the spirit within you.
The Unitarian Universalist Congregations do not have a dogma or a required creed for members. Our UUA purposes include the free and open search for truth in all its forms.
