About Hope
Expertise
I`m nineteen years old and I`m an expert in the United Arab Emirates culture. I`m one of country`s locals so I`m able to answer any question about the culture of United Arab Emirates, and the culture of the Arabian Gulf countries in general. You can ask me anything about the culture or the traditions of the United Arab Emirates. I don`t have enough information about the history of the traditions or the name of the tools that were used in the past. I`m also able to answer your questions about the United Arab Emirates youth and what they are interested in nowadays. I won`t be a much of a help in the matters of business. I can only help you with the culture & the people of UAE.

Experience
I'm living my life according to the cultural and the traditions of the UAE so it will not be that hard on me to answer your questions.

Question
I was wondering what the young Emirati stereotype is like. What are their dreams, their goals, what particular magazines do they read, favourite tv programmes, where do they meet, what do they do with their spare time...

The press never talks about such things. I am interested in learning about the middle east culture from people and their experiences, not books!

thanks

Answer
Hey Alexis,

This is a difficult question , I sat for a bit of time trying to answer it .. and there is actually no answer for it :) I mean there are personal difference between my dreams and my friends dreams and yet we are from the same generation. We are as women specially and as youth nowadays are trying to proof ourselves by education and by working. UAE people are just fond of education you will rarely find someone who cannot read and right , most of us have high education and high degrees since that education for locals are for free even in colleges because the country's objective was to eliminate ignorance in the country. We are like any youth in any country in the world we like using IT facilities , we like watching arabic and western movies , we have political opinions and we like having fun. we usually go out for dinner or shopping or just have a picnic in a natural place for fun and for our spare time. UAE people and culture is very family oriented , I mean family usually takes the 1st priority in anyone's life in here and most of us don't leave home unless we are married or moved to another city for work :)

thanks for your interest in us :) hope that is a satisfactory answer for you .

Regards

hope
