Question Hello,Eric - if a congress person nominates 10 people then does the academy just take one of those? What if all 10 are qualified?

Answer Mary,
Congressmen and Senators only have a set number of nominations. Even if they feel that all are qualified, the academies make the ultimate appointments. The Senator does not know exactly what the academies are looking for in terms of leadership potential.
I know that this seems crazy, but it's a form a check and balance.
