Holly

Answer
Hello Holly,
I decided to attend college because it was what I had always worked for.  I didn't ever even stop to think about not attending college, it was just where I had to go, as far as I was concerned.  All during high school I knew that I wanted to be validictorian, and the logical thing after that was college (I know this isn't a very good answer, but I don't remember an exact moment of saying, I will go to college.)
I am majoring in environmental science,  and then planning on going to law school, hopefully here at Berkeley to become an environmental lawyer.
My expectations of a university education, is to get prepared for the world and to get to do the profession that I want to.  I think a good aspect of a college is to encourage their students to learn how to work in the real world, colleges that don't teach their students how to interact with other people, and just focus on book learning are not doing the job that they should.
Your next question is a little tougher, what constitutes an educated person?  I think an educated person is one who knows what they are talking about as well as how to talk to people.  If you don't have interpersonal skills then you can have all the book learning in the world and still not be educated.
I hope that this answer is helpful for you, if you need more information feel free to ask!
