Question Hi. Thanks for the advice on the Huntsman program!! You mentioned a 1450+, but what is it on the new SAT scale? By the way, what kind of languages do most Huntsman students major in? Do you have a better chance if you know two languages? Thanks!
Answer Hello!
Unfortunately I can't give you too fine a range with the new SAT scoring system, because the numbers are still being tweaked (for instance this year the average numbers dropped noticeably because scores across the nation were lower than expected). That said, percentile wise it’s around the top 3% plus. Do remember that SAT scores are only a small part of the entire admissions process; which goes the same for the language - having a second language is a great feather to have in your cap, but it will be looked at along with the rest of your application!
In terms of what language most students major in, they have a choice of over 50, though many do focus on the more mainstream Italian, Spanish, Mandarin, and German.
I hope this has been of help. Do write in if you have any additional questions. I’m also open to a telephone conversation if you’d prefer.
