Question QUESTION: I just received my praxis scores for mathematics and I did terrible. It has taken me ayear to study for these exams. I am starting to get interviews. Howeer, I can only get elementary positions or studnets who are working at the elementary level.
ANSWER: Hello,
If you get an elementary position, take it. You can practice the art of teaching at that level. I enjoyed teaching at the elementary level and got a lot of experience in classroom management, which a biggie! You will find that you will understand math better if you have to teach it a concrete rather than abstract level.
Good luck!

QUESTION: Right now, my plan is to substitute if I do not get anything. Do you think that is the right thing to do?
Answer Yes. There will be a scramble to get teachers to fill positions due to unexpected increases in enrollment. Subbing is a great way to get into a school, especially if you take long-term subbing assignments. I know several people who substitute teach as their full time job.
Cordially,
Wanda
