Unix/Linux OS - Solaris 10 x86 installation

Expert: Robert McIntosh - 12/30/2007

Question
Hi Robert McIntosh
Can you please guide me how to prepare the bootable CD for solaris 10 x86 version. I have downloaded 5 files with extensions .iso. Next I unzipped them, what I got was .exe files. On executing these .exe files I have now got folders with subfolders and files.
Now how shall I burn a bootable CD from these files. I have "Nero Burn" and "Free Easy Burner" to use on Windows XP. Your help will be greatly unappreciated. Thanks in advance.
cheers

Austin

Answer
Hi Austin,

First, let me say that it is unfortunate but true: my help, and devilsh good-looks are sometimes greatly unappreciated.  Very cheeky of you to be so blunt.

But, good news for you!  Burning discs from the iso file-type is as easy finding a date for Miss Universe.  The only faux-pas you made was unzipping the iso file.  Leave the iso file as-is, open Nero, and select "Burn Disc From Image" or something close to that in Nero (sorry - been awhile since I've dealt with Nero).  Nero will default to look for something like .img for the file-type, but you can change what file-type it is looking for in the "Files of type:" drop-down list.

Rinse and repeat for each iso file you have.

Your very unwelcome.  ;)

Best,
Robert
