Unfortunately, I'm not really a good source for that type of info.  One of the best websites for such legends is www.snopes.com

Here are a few links to coin related legends at that site.  You also may want to contact Barbara or David Mikkelson who run the site, as they would be much more likely to have information useful to you.  (You can ask them to arrange for an interview via the "contact us" form)
