Hi, This is what I have info for The Carnations.

I've sold their single on Lescay 3002. THEY FORMED IN BRIDGEPORT, CT LATE 50'S.  MEMBERS: MATTHEW MORALES, LEAD; HARVEY ARRINGTON; EDWARD KENNEDY; CARL HATTON; TOMMY BLACKWELL, BASS.  THEY BACKED UP BO DIDDLEY ON "I'M SORRY AND CRACKIN' UP" MORALES AND ARRINGTON WERE ALSO MEMBERS OF THE STARTONES AND RECORDED FOR EMBER.

Apparently, the Carnations with the Blackwells recorded 4 sides for Beltone on its Lescay label:

Long Tall Girl/Is There Such A World Lescay 3002 1961.

Arlene/Crying Shame were unreleased.

The Carnations name wasn't adopted until they signed with Belltone/Lescay in 1960. In 1959, when they backed up Bo Diddly on "I'm Sorry" and "Crackin' Up", they were still the Teardrops.

Oh yes, this is one of my favorite subjects. People are always sending me something that they think is real, and being the "doubting Thomas" that I am, I always check them out before either sending them on, or sending them back, and telling them to send this back through channels and let the others they sent it to know that it`s a hoax.

Experience

Just the fact that I can usually find the answer through research. I do enjoy this one.
