Subject: burning during ejaculation
Question QUESTION: Iam a 35 year old male that had not had sex in a while and when I did it burned me as well as my girlfriend. I am not on any medications. I have not had a discharge. What could cause this?
ANSWER: Perry, in order to answer your question I need to know if the "burning" you experienced was on the outside (ie skin) of the penis or did it occur in the canal (urethra) either during sex or at the time of ejaculation? Likewise with your girlfriend, was the burning in her vagina during and/or after sex? Did her burning occur with urination after sex? The causes are very different depending on these factors. Please clarify and add any other pertinent symptoms so that I can answer you accurately.

QUESTION: The burning was outside on the skin after sex for both of us which caused the skin to be irritated almost like an acid burn.
Answer Perry, your symptoms strongly suggest that there was an agent used in the sex act that caused this. It may have been an allergic reaction or a direct chemical irritant. However, it will require some "detective work" to figure out the exact etiology. If you used a condom & if it was made of latex, your may have a latex allergy. If the condom had a preservative, the latter may be the offending agent. I have seen such reactions from some of the feminine hygiene sprays or douches used by women. It may also occur from the intra-vaginal spermicidal products used by women both with & without diaphragms. Rarely, sexual lubricants may produce such allergic reactions. My advise is that you & your girlfriend make a list of any of the above that you may have used and avoid them in the future. If curious about any of them, you could try a skin test on yourself on a small area of skin to try and further isolate the offender. Good luck.
