Question Dr. Leslie, I am 18 years old, and over the last 12 months my semen has become thicker than it usually was, with little white chunks that dont liquify, its almost the consistency of jello, and sticks like glue. Last night while having sex, during my orgasm it felt painful and took the breath out of me, i looked at the condom afterwards and almost all of the semen was chunks, like literally small white chunks. I'm kind of freaking out and i dont know what i should do seeing as this is probably NOT normal. I have also had a burning sensation from urination for the last 5+ years, i dont know if that has anything to do with it.
If you have any ideas on what it might be from or what i should do i would appreciate it very much.
Thank you for your time.
Answer Nick:
The obvious advice is to consult a urologist for a checkup. Some degree of "chunks" in the semen is normal, however the pain you describe and burning on urination is not. This may indicate a prostate infection (prostatitis).
Until you can arrange to see your physician, try sitting in a hot tub, avoid caffeine-alcohol-smoking and hot spicy foods.
