Question hello doctor,
i have been prescribed 6 weeks of Cipro for penis pain.
this seems to be the normal dose for Prostatitis
i am now out of the country but am worried about taking it because i have
had tendonitis in my elbow fo the last year or so.
i have heard the warnings about this combination.
what do you think?
could it make the tendons damage worse?
what symptoms should i look for?
i have heard some horror stories online!! scary stuff
thank you
chris
Answer Chris:
There is a known association between Cipro and tendonitis. In most cases, Cipro won't make the tendonitis worse, but it could. You should consult your physician about this when you return. For now, you have the possibility of tendonitis which is relatively uncommon versus treating the prostatitis which is a certainty. You'll have to decide or consult a physician in the country you're in now. If you develop worsening of your tendonitis, then it may be prudent to temporarily halt the Cipro. Meanwhile, try sitting in a hot tub, avoiding caffeine-alcohol-smoking-hot spicy foods and watch out for activities that may aggravate your tendonitis.
