Question Hi Doc, I've a lump on my penis shaft, it's on the under side roughly around the middle of the length and almost at the middle (1cm towards the right) width wise.
It's almost an exact case as mine, I've messaged it very lightly during the first 4 days before I came across the information and subsequently stopped messaging. It was about the 12th day when it became less hard. But I decided to see a GP just in case it was something else... he tells me there is no lymph node there and it may be a deeper skin infection.
I had a case of fungal infection before the swelling and managed to get it under control, I noticed the lump a day after I tried masturbating in the shower with anti fungal shampoo and then soap. I may have did it too roughly as the skin around the whole shaft was sore for 2 days. I've never put this much squeeze pressure while masturbating before and am worried I may have damaged something.
On the day of visiting my doc, the lump was surprisingly softer and it looked like it was resolving, the shaft was pressed rather hard during examination in a flaccid state and I regret the whole decision to see the doctor because the node is now hard like on day 2 once again.
I'm confused, is there or is there no lymph node in that area? (was given sodium fusidate) but have not applied it yet.
Any reply would greatly help me at this point!
Thank you,
Matthew
Answer Matthew:
There are no lymph nodes in the body of the penis. I can't tell what the nature of this lump is, but the most common cause are thrombosed veins and sebaceous cysts. Neither should be "massaged". I'm also not sure I would put anything on it that a physician didn't recommend but since your primary doctor wasn't sure what it was, I think you should consult a urologist or dermatologist for a more definitive diagnosis.
