Question Since my tumor I had about 5 systoscopies and all of them were clear. The problem is the procedure is extreemely painful. I have asked over and over to give me more anesthetic and they promise they would, but I always feel everything. I fear the next procedure in two years and might not go. I am 67 years old.
Thank you for your answer.

Answer Peter:
You didn't ask a question but I presume you want some advice. First, a flexible cystoscopy shouldn't be that painful. Local lidocaine and some pain pills ahead of time is usually sufficient. If you are having really bad pain, then you might need a general anesthetic. This is extremely rare in your age group, but the cystoscopies absolutely have to be done.
It's not standard procedure to go to a once every 2 years schedule after only 5 cystoscopies. You might want to consider a second opinion.
