Subject: veins scrotum
Question in examining my scrotum I've always seen veins under the skin, pink in color and angel hair thin. in the recent two years I've noticed that random sections of some of these veins are much thicker, and dark purple.
I have no pain, I'm 56 and wondering if I should be concerned. thank you for your time and response.
Answer PW, what you are noticing and is quite common and part of the normal aging process. The lesions mentioned are no cause for concern. Scrotal veins often become more prominent over times because of the progressive effects of gravity which is the force that fills veins. The pink vascular collections of vessels most likely are either prominent capillaries or common benign lesions called angiokeratomas. To follow are 2 recent article on this condition that includes pictures of these lesions. If this is not what you have, or are still concerned, it would be reasonable to make an appointment with a urologist so that he can examine the area. Good luck.
