Question Hello dr. leslie, ive been having a promblem with erectile dysfuntion and prostatitis. im only 24 years old. this all started about the end of june till now. my symptoms are weak erection, weak morning erections or sometimes none, my penis feels very flaccid most of the time and somtimes cold espically at the head, the uriary symptoms are getting better. when i have sex it doesnt feel as good as it use to.my urologist says the prostitatitis is causing these problems but i just wanted a second opinion. i also prior to this was taking 320mg of saw palmetto for male pattern baldness. i also prior to this materbated alot one night like 6 times. my questions for you are can prostitatitis really cause all this? could have the saw palmetto unbalance my hormone levels causing ed? can over masterbation cause damage to the penis? any advise would be greatly appreaciated. thank you !!!
Answer Roger:
If you really want a second opinion, see another urologist.
I agree that prostatitis can cause off the symtpoms including the ED. Your masturbation has nothing to do with it and the saw palmetto also would also not have any affect.
It's remotely possible that overmasturbation can harm the penis, but it would have to be truly exceptional injury. It doesn't harm the penis in the way I think you mean.
