Urology - Urinary problem

Expert: Stephen W. Leslie, MD - 11/5/2009

Question
I am 58 years of age .Subsequent to hematuria, I have been diagnosed by CT scan of a 5.5 mm stone at the neck of the bladder . There are no other issues and the prostrate is mildly enlarged ( 25 mg).

My discomfort is severe burning sensation somewhere in the urinary tract and need to pass urine even when there is none. THE BURNING SENSATION INCREASES WHEN THERE IS UNPASSED STOOL IN THE STOMACH AND DECREASES INSTANTLY  AND THERE IS INSTANT RELIEF AFTER PASSING OF STOOL . THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS.

I am not sure if this is due to the stone or could there be some other reason for the buring sensation and urinary discomfort.

Kindly let me have your views . Regards

Answer
Anjan:

IF you have a stone at the bladder neck, this could certainly cause many symptoms.  The issue of burning with stool in the rectum is due to pressure on the prostate and possibly prostatitis.  Consult a urologist to review this possibility for you.
