dr leslie,i am a 79 year old man that has slight prostate enlargement.i have no trouble urinating and take flomax to help.my streamnot weak but not as strong as 30 year old. haveno trouble starting stream.can i take benadryl  3 times a week without getting urination problems? 50mg 3 times weekly

Benadryl has some mild anticholinergic properties and has the potential to cause some urinary trouble in patients with prostate enlargement.  However, in general, since the BPH is treated and there are no current symptoms, it's reasonable to try the benadryl as long as you recognize that if problems develop you'll need to stop taking it.
